What is beauty to you?
In a world which is becoming increasingly more vain every day our appearance is becoming a seriously hot topic!
Are women really becoming depressed and anxious over being surrounded by size 6 models?
Do we really care what our men think or are other woman's opinions of a higher value?
Is size zero really a size?
So, it's my birthday in a couple of weeks and i thought i'd treat myself to something pretty. However after searching for a dress on various online clothing websites such as Miss Guided and ASOS i now feel like staying at home and eating a rather large tub of chocolate ice-cream. i'm a healthy size 12 but with my short 5"2 frame, struggle to find anything i'd feel good in, let alone great!
So, seeing so many images, one after another, of girls whose features barely exist has actually made me feel horrid.
In no way is this kind of advertisement healthy. It is just off putting. If they are trying to say, 'Buy me! This dress will make you look tiny!' They are only fooling one person, themselves! Show me a healthy size 12/14 woman in the same dress and i am ten times more likely to buy it!
This is a difficult topic which is forever being ignored and... I hate to say it girls, but we partly have ourselves to blame. I, myself am guilty of spending hours flicking through instagram looking at all the beautiful selfies posted of size 6 models posing in their undies! Yes, it's depressing. Yes, it's such a bad idea. However you can't help but want what you can't have! A girl can dream eh?
Okay, so my purpose here is not to insult slim women. Some women are naturally small and should be just as proud of their bodies! We are all born to be different, including shape and size! My real goal here is not to name and shame but acknowledge the websites, mostly online clothing stores, that perhaps aren't helping any body feel better about there waist!
